We had the pleasure and honor of taking a new hunter on a California Wild Pig hunt over the weekend. When Mike first emailed us that he was interested in booking a Wild Pig hunt with SC2 Outdoors he had some general questions about the hunt and being a first time. We had thought that it was either first time pig hunter or first time to go on a guided hunt, we had no idea that he had never hunted anything or been exposed to hunting before. The things we take for grant it being raised as a country mouse.
Mike took to hunting like a "duck to water" and was actually a superb client, he asked all the right questions and allowed his natural instincts to kick in. We had a beautiful day of hunting with heavy winds that we used in our favor.
After several hours of hunting we were able to get on a little band of hogs and Mike made an excellent shot at 89 yards on a running boar. Mike chose to hunt with a Russian tryokhlineynaya vintovka obraztsa 1891 goda or a Russian Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant Carbine 7.62 rifle. I swear the thing weighed 14-16 pounds. Well in any event Mike handle the rifle perfect during the hunt and at the most important of times.
Congratulations Mike, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Thank you for entrusting and allowing us to be part of your first hunting experience.
