The Pentacola Ranch at 11,710 +/- acres is an unbelievable property located in northern Tehama County, California. The ranch is conveniently located approximately 35 minutes west of Interstate 5 and Cottonwood, California and about 55 minutes from the Redding Airport. The ranch is currently a working cattle ranch, winter range for free ranging livestock. Great care has been taken to protect and preserve this ranch and its natural resources. SC2 Outdoors is extremely honored to have been offered the opportunity to develop a hunting and wildlife management program exclusively for this ranch. In an effort to expand its already abundant wildlife, our fundamental strategy will be to selective harvest mature animals and offer an outstanding hunting experience with quality over quantity.
The Pentacola Ranch has a tremendous variation in habitat across the 7 miles from its eastern to western boundary. The eastern side of the ranch is primarily covered in California Valley Oaks, with a sprinkling of pines and juniper. The ranch has remarkable areas of bald hills, open fields and grasslands sparsely covered with oaks. As you move towards the western side of the range you'll discover very tight, steep, canyons, gulches and draws primarily covered in chaparral, pine, manzanita, oak brush and ceanothus. The main water source on the ranch is the Middle Fork of Cottonwood creek which runs along 5 miles of the northern boundary. Additional water is scattered across the ranch in seasonal ponds and creeks as well as establish water for both wildlife and livestock.
Once you begin your outdoor adventure on this ranch, then and only then will you appreciate the amazing natural beauty, vastness and ruggedness that will unfold in front of you.
